Everything back in place, the incisions sutured shut, the orange body wrap stripped away, I'm shipped out to recovery. It's 12:30 in the afternoon.
Sometime later in recovery, they have removed the throat tube. But more than a dozen sensors remain in place. Several are actually wires still in place in the heart measuring temperture and oxygen content inside; it was very weird when they pulled those out. "take a deep breath.....pull..., pull..., pull, pull.... .pop!; now let's do the next one; deep breath....."
5 are EKG electrodes. Others appear to be earbuds for my Ipod, but who knows.
The four large drainage tubes are very uncomfortable, but will come out in a day or two. These tubes extend maybe a foot or so inside the chest cavity.
Lots of other stuff I don't understand.
Pressure cuff on the incision where they took the leg arteries out.
Actually, all things considered, I don't think the skin tones are too bad.
